Introduction
RaakSign is a powerful and cost effective Public Key Middleware solution for USB tokens and Smart Cards. With RaakSign you can securely store your digital certificates and keys on a USB Token or Smart Card for use with any standards based, Digital Certificate capable application including:

Two Factor Security
RaakSign enforces Two Factor security, requiring the end user to have both the USB Token or Smart Card (something you have) and a PIN (something you know). USB Tokens and Smart Cards are physically and logically tamper resistant, ensuring that the end-user’s digital credentials are not copied, modified or shared.

Certificate Registration Utility
The RaakSign Certificate Registration Utility enables the automatic registration and de-registration of user and root certificates into the Windows Certificate store. This greatly enhances portability and security, eliminating the need for the end-user or administrator to manually load and unload certificates.

Standards Based
RaakSign is based on well established industry standards, ensuring interoperability with the widest possible range of applications and devices. RaakSign supports both Microsoft Windows Cryptographic Services and RSA Labs’ Public Key Cryptographic Standards, the two most widely adopted cryptographic interfaces, as well as Java Card, the most widely implement Smart Card operating system. RaakSign is certified for use with Checkpoint, RSA Keon and Entrust.

Multi platform
The RaakSign solution supports a wide variety of operating systems, including Windows, PocketPC, Linux and Mac OS-X. In addition, RaakSign supports a wide variety of Smart Card and USB tokens. These include the Raak Technologies USB Tokens and C7 Smart Card, as well as products from a large number of other vendors, including Gemalto, G&D, Oberthur, Orga, IBM and Renesas

Administration Utility
The RaakSign Administration Utility provides the program administrator with the ability to manage USB tokens, Smart Cards and user credentials. Administration Functions include:

Load Digital IDs: Load Digital IDs (Digital Certificates and their corresponding keys) in to the token from files or from the Windows certificate store.

Load Certificates: Load Trusted CA certificates in to the token for use with the end user certificate registration utility.

Set PIN, PUK: Set the PIN (Personal Identification Number), and PUK (PIN Unblock Key). This allows the Administrator to customize the token for each individual user.

Unblock Token: Unblock the token using the PUK. Unblocking recovers the token with the user certificates and keys after the user has lost or forgotten their PIN code.

Initialize Token: Initialize USB Tokens and Smart Cards to work with the RaakSign client software. This is needed to recover a token after the PIN has been blocked permanently.
